Satellite Stories! FINLAND!

I sent Satellite Stories an interview request last March. that's a lifetime ago! but according to some logic, March and October are KIND OF the same.

so then I was drinking and thinking to myself, when I saw them on my Facebook newsfeed, that I should be like HEY YOU NEVER RESPONDED and see what happened! other bands that have ignored such requests:

- Lykke Li (not a band)
- Mila Kunis (not a band)
- Passion Pit (a band)

well, they were nice enough to send me back answers, so thanks, you sweet Finnish boys!

and here is what these Finns on the rise- think fast, Two Door Cinema Club like indie rock- had to say to me. please note some of these questions are outdated! OOPS!

you have on your myspace that you were the most blogged about Finnish band in 2010. so I'm taking it 2010 was a very big year for you?
Satellite Stories:  2010 seemed like a big year, but 2011 was way huger than 2010. We played at major Finnish summer festivals and toured Germany and Switzerland. Next year will be of course even huger than 2011, when we release our new EP in spring. I just wish I could leak all the songs to Internet :D Everyone's going to like them for sure. (!!!)

you're getting really popular on hype machine I've noticed (which is how I was introduced to you!)- were you aware of that? (I'm sure you were, but sometimes!)

Satellite Stories:  Yeah, we're aware of the Hype Machine popularity. But popularity at the Internet comes and goes. Playing gigs makes a band more popular than just releasing songs at the Internet, that's why we try to play lots of gigs.
what are some exciting things you have coming up? (recording more tracks, playing more shows in Finland, etc?)
Satellite Stories:  I actually answered this to in question 1. But I forgot to tell that we are releasing a new single at the start of December. It's our darkest song yet. And it is very danceable and energetic.

how did you all start making music?
Satellite Stories:  Esa and Jyri used to hang around and Esa met Olli-Pekka at university of Oulu. Marko joined year later when old guitarist Taneli moved away to study rocket science. It was all really natural.

yeah I mentioned myspace DO SOMETHING

thanks boys! best of luck to you!
