I usually don't have the energy to blog when I return home from work- or to do anything, really- except the other evening, like Cara, I cleaned my room, which made me feel a lot better. and my music library. like colon cleansing. it was cathartic. do you think colon cleansing would be cathartic? do you think it would just be disgusting, painful and unneccessary? have you ever gone to THE COLON CLEANSING BLOG? if you haven't be warned DO NOT GO UNLESS YOU HAVE A STRONG STOMACH.
thus my blogging in the morning. haiiiiii.
so Adam Lambert came out yesterday and I spent the remainder of my day in total shock. I mean, who's supposed to bear my lovechildren now? nonetheless- I think he's got a sturdy career ahead of him. from what I witnessed of "American Idol" I really liked his style. although Kris Allen's version of "Heartless" (that was a good Kanye album, by the way. "505s and Heartbreak"- I truly enjoyed that) was the shit, let's be honest.
When is "I'm a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here!" on TV??? I NEED to see Janice. will someone please inform me so I can build my day around this one event?
at work, it occurred to me- I haven't made a mix for this summer yet. WHAT THE FUCK. I'll work on it. I need to perfect it before anything and then I'll post it, just for you. only for you. I can't promise all the songs will be downloadable, though. I'll try my best anyway. I'm still jaded at the last mix I made. they never go over well, do they? you think, considering my staggering taste, that's a damn good gift. I sound so egotistical. I don't fucking care.
Cat Power's version of "Wild is the Wind" is pretty weak. and I write this as a devoted Cat Power fan. if you ever have to hear that song, find the Nina Simone spin. sends chills up my spine every time I hear it. It was on the "Revolutionary Road" trailer.
lastly, did you know Au Revoir Simone had a new album come out in April? somehow this passed me by. anyway, I listened to part of it on last.fm (here: http://www.last.fm/music/Au+Revoir+Simone/Still+Night%2C+Still+Light). good stuff! especially that first song. they're a nice little band that I wish I paid more attention to, frankly because I love that name. AU REVOIR SIMONE!
NO DOUBT ON SATURDAY
EXPECT A LENGTHY RECAP
AND A "DRAG ME TO HELL" REVIEW BECAUSE I NEED TO SOMETHING.
love, Brittany (I would like to think my voice leaks through on these entries and you don't need to know it's me but whatever, maybe you have a plate in your head)
